A Day for the Little Wonders - Children's Day

As we all know, the 14th of November is celebrated as Children's Day - a day for the little wonders. When we hear the word 'children', the picture we draw in our minds is that of smiling, playful children. But as all know, there many children out there who are not as fortunate as we are.

Millions of children across the globe do not get the love and care they deserve. From those millions, thirty kids have been adopted by this orphanage, Kannada Adarsha Mahila Makkala Samsthe, and uncle and aunty, the caretakers, have been working hard to give them proper shelter, upbringing and education.
Let's give a big round of applause to the little wonders and the caretakers.

On this special day, team Mission5 has hosted a FANCY DRESS COMPETITION where the kids will shed their usual looks, customs and appear in new avatars ranging from Jhansi ki Rani to Koli fisherfolk community, Adivasi to dancing scarecrow and more.

Without further delay, let's begin the show.

Elderly members & kids celebrate Diwali

Team Mission5 hosted the Diwali celebrations with much aplomb at Shree Shirdi Vrudhashram & Home for Mentally Retarded, an old-age home in Kithigannur, on 5th Nov 2010.

For the first time, children from Kannada Adarsha Mahila Makkala Samsthe, Parvatinagar [Bangalore] got a chance to visit the elderly home and interact with the elderly members.

On the auspicious occasion, elderly members, kids and M5 volunteers together lit the lamps and greeted each other for good health and prosperity. The celebrations at old-age home concluded with distributing sweets to all the elderly members.

Children were taken back to the orphanage, and given hand sparkles and flower pots. Together the volunteers and children enjoyed the evening amid colorful sparkles and lights.
